What Your Interior Designer Wants You To Know About Decorating A New Space
Whether you're decorating a new space or you're giving an old space a new life, interior design Madison can be tricky. As an interior designer, I'd love to share a few tips and tricks I've learned over the years that can help an interior design Madison novice create a beautiful, refreshed space.
Don't be afraid to play around! Furniture, art, and rugs can all be moved. If something doesn't look quite right, play with it until you get a better idea of how it may (or may not!) fit into your space.
Expensive isn't always better. Sure, high-quality pieces can cost a pretty penny, but you don't always need to choose the most expensive item to complete your home.
Think about the purpose. Decide what each room of your home is going to be used for, and work from there. For example, a living room that doubles as a playroom should have a very different feel than a formal living room that's only occasionally used for entertaining guests.
Shop around. Just because you find one piece you love doesn't mean your entire home needs to be furnished by that particular store. Shopping around allows you to create a unique, eclectic look. This will also allow you to add to your home over time without worrying that a piece won't match the rest of your decor perfectly.
Whether you're just getting started with decorating a new space, or you're revamping a space that you've had for years, I'm here to help. Give me a call to learn more about how I can help you create the space you've always imagined.
